Slimming Diet

I have read this tips and I think it will help others. Specially with those one who tried very hard to slim down even for a bit. The way people cook and the food available to the market has a sound matter in what we are today. I believe it is not a matter of how much you eat, or how frequently you feels like eating but it is what you eat. I am not saying you need to change the food you are actually taking in. But be considerate on putting it on your meal. The food I read is good and might not break you if you add this on your list. It helps me a lot, excluding the gym and working style i got. It also helps my mom to be on her knees. With osteoperosis, I need to assemble large reading and meet many people with what they call "We are the healthy people who plan this blah blah blah" And believe me sometimes they scared me away....But I have learned a few bits that I can share. Do you Choose wellness when you shop?

Here are some readings I have done hope it will help you good.
How to Check the Label

WHY CHECK THE LABEL
As consumers, we need to make wise choices about the food we eat. This is where food labels come in. It can help you make informed decisions towards choosing good nutrition and health
Knowing how to read food labels also assures you that you are getting more value for your money and protects you from incorrect clai
How do I check the label.
* The basics of the food label.
* Choosing the Low Energy-dense food
* Understanding Products Claim

The Basics of the Food Label
Labels are designed so that consumers are provided with useful information about the product and how this would fit into their daily diets. The following are a big help:
Look at the list of ingredients. This gives an overview of the product’s "recipe". Ingredients are arranged from the most to the least amount. If a product lists its ingredients as
Sugar, Water, Artificial Flavor, Juice Concentration
- this means that the bulk of the product is sugar. The ingredient with least amount is juice concentrate
Compute for % calories from fat. This indicates the calories contributed by fat per serving. For example, a food label reads:

Amount per Serving
Calories 200 Calories From Fat 50
Simply calculate the ratio of calories from fat to calories per serving.
50/200 x 100% = 25%
Meaning, of the 200 calories a serving of this product gives you, 25% comes from fat!

For foods with fat % of above 25%, eat them in moderation. Look for foods that have 25% or less fat calories per serving!
Be aware of health-sensitive ingredients. Some of these include fat, sugar, and salt. The rule is "Less is better". Frequent high intake of these ingredients is associated with obesity, kidney diseases, heart problems, and diabetes.

Watch the nutrient amounts. Read the Nutrition Facts Label for nutrient amounts. These are given either by % Daily Values (which is US-based) or the Recommended Energy and Nutrient Intake (%RENI, which is locally based). This allows you to compare nutrient amounts per serving among different brands of a particular food.

For example, the label of an iced tea product reads:
Serving Size 200 mL Per 9g %RENI
Vitamin C 37.5 mg 50%
Remember that this %RENI applies to most nutrients, including calories, protein, and various vitamins and minerals.
Get more value. What’s the real cost per serving of a product? Check how many servings you can make from a big pack! There are 2 items you’ll need to look at:
Net Weight is the amount of product inside the pack. This can be found near the bottom of a pack, usually at the front of the packaging.
Serving Size is the amount (usually in grams or milliliters) per serving of a product.
Divide Net Weight by Serving Size. This gives you the number of servings in the pack. With the result you get, do you think the pack is worth the price being charged? You may want to pick out a different pack size.
Choosing Low Energy-Dense Foods
Go for low energy-dense foods 1. Energy density refers to the ratio of
calories to the weight of the food.
Less calories per portion size is generally better for weight management. Eating low energy-dense food will help you feel full because of the relatively bigger portion size, but low caloric amount

If a label reads:
Serving Size 40 g
Servings per Container 5
Amount per Serving
Calories 180
- divide the calories per serving by the weight of the serving in grams:
180 calories ÷ 40g = 4.5
Compare this value with the following standard list for Energy Density:

Energy Density Examples

Below 0.6 Very low Low fat milk, yogurt

0.6 - 1.5 Low Cottage cheese, pasta

1.5 - 4 Medium Hard candy, pretzels, cheddar cheese

4 - 9 High Crackers, chips, chocolate, cookies

Remember to limit your intake of medium and high energy-density foods.
If you want to manage your weight, go for lower energy-density foods!

Understanding Product Claims
Review the Health Claims.
A product can claim that it is high in fiber and therefore can lower incidence
of heart disease. A decreased risk of heart disease is associated with an
intake of 14 g of fiber for every 1,000 calories consumed in a day.
That’s equivalent to around 25-30 g of fiber per day. Compare with what is
on the label.

Here are other facts you can compare with what’s on the label:
Calcium can reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Check if the product has at least 115 mg of calcium
A low-fat diet can lower risk for developing certain types of cancer.
For solid products, go for 3g or less per 100g serving
For liquid products, go for 1.5g or less per 100 mL

The label can provide this health information to consumers to enable them to develop healthy dietary practices.
Understand nutrient content claims. They are not always as they seem!
A zero-calorie product can actually contain up to 4 calories per serving.
A fat-free product can contain up to 0.5 grams of fat per serving.
A low-fat product can have as much as 3 grams for solid products
and 1.5g for liquid products.

CHECK THE LABEL!
The Food Label was designed to help people choose foods well.
By knowing how to use it, you can understand how a specific food item can fit into your overall diet.
You can more effectively and efficiently select foods and choose between products.
So go ahead, check the label!

Who is the Noble one?

Laughing insane, boast his wealth
he said he owns the sun and the moon
There is one so rich, money is his bed
But the vault he had, lots of sin  in there...

The insane is singing songs without a hymn
You'll shake your head and call him crazy
There is one whose not , who knows different song
He prays day and night, with lies on his tongue

Who is the noble?
Who is the true insane?
Who is  lucky?
Who is calling mercy?
Is it the one who is born impaired?

The only thing he wears is shaggy, and rags
it sympathize on his broken mind
There is a lad who wore golds and diamonds
But once worn out snakeskin envelopes him
In his move and action
everyone is having fun
in our eyes he is but only crazy
But if we are gonna be judged together
In God's eyes, He is pure and noble

So, who is the insane one?

A Few Steps for Good Relationship

Improve Relationships

The joys and pains of relationships are never as pronounced as during Holiday periods. Valentines day is fast approaching, use these seven steps as building blocks to strengthen your relationships. You'll have a more satisfying and joyous hearty period, and so will those close to you.

Although the approaching valentine day provide an immediate incentive, there are also long term benefits to be gained. Reputable studies show a strong correlation between happiness and high quality relationships. It's therefore in our best interests to nurture and build strong relationships for this Love Day season and beyond.

From many articles and studies of the characteristics of strong relationships we can distill the following list of seven important steps or components; think of these as relationship building blocks.

* Commitment
* Freedom
* Respect
* Support
* Equality
* Healthy conflict resolution
* Trust

Committed Relationship

Fundamental to a strong relationship is commitment. Commitment to making the relationship strong and healthy is the foundation on which it can grow. Relationships take work. They take effort. Like life itself, relationships are dynamic, ever changing because we are ever changing. A strong relationship requires continuous nurturing, and that takes commitment.

Commitment to the relationship means unconditionally caring about maintaining and improving the relationship, even during times of anger or disappointment. There may be times when you aren't even sure you like the other person, but if you're committed you'll spend the effort to sustain the relationship during tough times.

Sand Castle

Morning can be defined
Like a castle on the sand
Don't you ever touch
And it will fall apart
And  wind will topple it down

The waves of wrong love
Is its mortal enemy
If the bayou is being kissed
The sand castle will be destroyed

So before we ever speak
Of everlasting promises
To our beloved ones, on our mind and  action
Think it over if your love is true
Even if you crossed a thousand roads

Once two hearts
Vowed to keep their love
Bound by sand castle
Love for short temper

For short and a while
Tears brought by it
Love that happened to us
The shattered sand castle

Addicted

 Addicted to you"
Songs for me
Tired  of
Marathon stories
About you and  the happiness
Brought by you into my life
Protagonist on my mind was you

In the morning and at night
In every minute that passes by
I am looking  for  you
On my mind and in my dreams
For every toss of fate
I am searching for you

I am needing you, even a lifetime
For us to be together
Like in the movies
And our ending
Bring  to my house
With a goodnight
With a night kiss
With good byes…

A Program Instills Reading Values in Kids and Parents

Children whose parents pay less attention to their education may have more difficulty in learning, let alone finding interest in the learning process.

Some parents work long hours, which prevented them from paying attention to their children’s education.

Some of my pupils I interviewed said all they get were verbal reminders. That is how their parents monitored their education.

I think as educator we need to offer program that help pupils improve their reading skills during summer. They might ignore it first but children are adamant. They might send their children off to school on summer to tutoring in reading.

A time-bound reading proficiency program designed by educators for volunteer mentors, the program must include a required training for the volunteers on the proper ways of teaching non-readers. It must create to accelerate the learning abilities of a student through one-on-one mentoring and tailor fitting the special needs of the children still on the reading learning curve.

Enhancing further the program, parents should attend special sessions on how to encourage learning in their children, and in preparing timetables that balance learning and entertainment.

It must be a partnership of three- the mentor, parents, and teachers. I know it is not easy for the children to learn just like that, through motivation and values formation they might learn on the program. I believe children can overcome the challenges.

I believe there is a direct correlation between willingness to learn and the love for reading with socio-economic background, stating that limited resources have an affect the desire to learn. “Socio-economic background also plays a strong part – some of these non-readers work during weekends and their families can ill-afford to spare them to attend a free mentoring program.

I believe a typical non-reader is not stupid. On the contrary, most of them are highly intelligent but they are usually shy or too attached to play so they are left behind by their peers. It is unfortunate that their parents are either illiterate themselves or are too busy to give them the special attention and encouragement they need to learn. If the child has no interest and gets used to underachieving, years will pass and time will come when the child will accept being an under-achiever. However, if we can help them realize the beauty of reading, they use it to improve their lives. Reading is a skill they will never lose.

As educator, the significant contribution we can make to our students was to enable them to appreciate the value of education. I think you can share something with the program I have in mind.

It must highlight how many people are willing to help and be part of the solution. In addition, the most amazing thing is that these volunteers will do it out of love. It will be your contribution to the children’s quality of life.

So feed my mind and share.

As Long As I Live

I want to live

for as long as I may

If it will pass

With you in my side

My only prayer

Is your only wish

That the fire within my heart

will not be lost

If separated

I am defeated

I will stop wanting

To go on living,

I love you to know

Until the edge of the world

My dreams about you

Is forever in my soul....

For as long as i live..

For as long as blood runs through my vains,

My life

I will give to you..

When Time Comes

I knew you didn’t know

I am just here

waiting to be loved

hoping

you will …

although you are not seeing

am still here praying

wishing if not today

you will seek and try to find…

If the time comes

maybe it will be me and you

my heart and yours

will beat as one

wish it will happen

even if not at the moment

nor today

maybe someday….

I will keep on waiting

I am dreaming even if not today

you will love me too

I know it will not be tomorrow

maybe….

it will be then….

A Boost

“Who needs an operation to be beautiful and handsome?” my son quoted a day before. So i asked myself, Yes, who needs a lift up operation for a change. How will this effect human being from being a loser to a feeling of champion. How about guilt? Will it make them comfortable and happy and brought them to contentment. Or will it bring them to change more after a period of attaining what they want, needed more and wanting more.

I have shown a picture puzzle to my son. A picture of nose, pair of eyes, lips, shape of face, and ears. I told him not to put it together just look at it individually. He said the owner of this face looks horrible, and ugly. So I asked “ How could he tell?” He said nose is flat, eyes is small and squinted and so on and so forth. I told him to put it all together. And after a while he gasped in disbelief. He knows the guy.

I asked him then, “ Now tell me, does he looks bad?” he said “No!”

“Why?”

He said well, girls really wanted to hook him up. He is the smartest boy in the class. Actually top 1 in his section. He is over confident and he carries himself dignantly. And he said I hate him sometimes for being a machoism ass.

In short, he is a guy hunk.

Hmmmm. If this guy doesn’t have a confidence over himself, sure he will want an operation. Atleast to boost his ego, and add something more and remove something less....

With respect to his feature, he is not perfect. There is no trace of prettiness in him. But how on earth if he passes by, you could hear teens ohhhhs! And ahhhhs!.

First, he is neat. Really neat. From his hair to his toes.

Second, he is smart. In a bunch of hunkies, he can stand out.

Next, he has ego, a personality, and a 500 degrees of confidence.

Who will recognize the imperfectness? No one.

Sometimes we overlooked what nature gives us. We lost the sense of contentment and confidence and end up in an operating room. And then vanity consumed our hearts. Darkness fell upon and every time we look at ourselves in the mirror, we feel horrible. Sometimes feels guilty of not doing this and what is supposed to.

So i asked my son if he felt insecure with “Ilaw” name of the teenboy every time he passes by his room or with the same room? His replied was “no, mom.....I am pretty good with myself...Girls go gaga with me too..I have my own style....

So, what’s next? Simple. What do you feel after going to a saloon? The moment you step out of the saloon, i know you feel contented, pretty and sexy. I hope everyone will hold that moment. And that moment should last. If you are fat and wanted to really look slimmer, begin to discipline yourself. No one will slap your flab to get you move. Always start inside. If you are fat and feel sexy, you look good. Actually look good. I have a friend who doesn’t mind about being fat. And she does look sexy. She is a good dancer and can create a vibrant ambiance. You could feel her personality. And since she is happy within, it glows outside. That is what i am aftering. An aura of simplicity and vibrance. Abounding of self respect and dignity.

So who needs an operation?

As wise man quoted once....” man is always wanting....if it is hot...he wants cold..if it is cold...he wants it hot...always wanting what is not...”

God bless you all...
